Head of the HCMC Metropolitan Railway Management Committee (MAUR), Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, stated that they paid great attention to the construction, installation, and testing of the trains. Between 2017 to 2019, the contractor Hitachi built the train parts in a Japanese factory, and reassembled it at the Kasado factory. Prior to sending the train parts to Ho Chi Minh City, the parts have been tested for safety.
Mr. Cuong said that HCMC Metro will operate at Chang Binh Warehouse in Q1 2021. By Q3, the main route will start from Chang Binh Warehouse to Binh Thai Intersection (Thu Duc District). Subsequently in Q4, they will begin testing the route from Yongpyong Warehouse to Tancang Station (Pingcheng area). An additional of 16 trains are expected to arrive in 2021.
