As well as fish balls, Siu Mai would probably be one of the most recognisable Hong Kong street food. Just like fish balls, you can find this at most of the snack stalls. In fact, it is also popular in other countries not just in Hong Kong. Lastly, this pork-filled bright yellow paper steamed to perfection and doused in soy sauce is definitely a favourite!

STINKY TOFU

Next in our list is the stinky tofu! As what its name says, it really stinks. But, don’t be deceived by its smell because it is one of the most delicious street food in Hong Kong. The tofu is deep-fried and usually partnered with chilli sauce. Furthermore, the crispy outer layer of the tofu perfectly complements its soft and creamy centre. One thing’s for sure, the smell shouldn’t stop you from tasting it!

THREE STUFFED TREASURES

Although its name is ‘three’ stuffed treasures, there are more than three varieties you may choose from. Also, it can refer to any number of things combined and these are filled with cap paste and then fried. Either soy sauce or chilli oil, you will surely enjoy this street food!

EGGETTES

Finally, the sweet and heavenly smell of Eggettes as you walk along the streets of Hong Kong is hard to resist! In addition to that, this delicacy is also known as Gai Daan Zai in Cantonese. Eggettes are made by pouring egg batter onto a griddle pan and cook it until its outside is crispy. Nowadays, it has many different tastes and styles that you should definitely try!
