First featured location in today’s Japan travel guide is the Hirakiyama Park. The Hirakiyama Park located at the top of Mt. Hirakiyama in the Ehime prefecture, sits 149 metres above sea level and has about 1,000 sakura trees planted here. During spring, it shows off the stunning white and pink beauty of the cherry blossoms in full bloom, giving you uninterrupted view on your visit. Aside from that, the Hirakiyama Park also overlooks the Oshima Bridge, Hakata Island, Tatara Bridge and O-mishima Bridge. There’s also a jungle gym and a 36-metre long slide in the park which makes for a fun day trip with the family.

Nestled between the Azumabashi and Sakurabashi bridges is the long stretch of Sumida Park, one the places to visit in Tokyo if you’re in Japan during spring. This riverside park is a famous Tokyo tourist attraction where locals and foreign tourists would visit armed with picnic essentials as they enjoy a lovely afternoon surrounded by cherry blossoms. Chosen as one of Japan’s 100 Top Cherry Blossom Viewing Sites, the Gojo River will give you endless chance to take pictures under the blossoming sakura during your Japan travel in spring. Adding more to the beauty of blooming cherry blossoms is the Iwakura Cherry Blossom Festival’s parades of floats as well as exciting performances.

Found in the Hiroshima Prefecture, Onomichi city in Japan is mostly known for the Temple Walk – the walking route which connects 25 of the temples found in the area. But at the east side, there’s a cable car that runs up Mt. Hirakiyama where you’ll find Hirakiyama Park – the place to visit for the perfect view of cherry blossoms.

Known as the symbol of Kurayoshi in Tottori prefecture, Utsubuki Park located at the foothills of Mt. Utsubuki boasts a variety of beautiful cherry trees. It has also been chosen as one of Japan’s Top 100 Forests for therapeutic walks. So aside from celebrating the blooming of sakura in Tottori, you can also spend some afternoon walking while enjoying the refreshing surroundings. Some nights, they lit up about 400 lanterns that create an incredible view of the cherry blossoms.
