ASTAKA MOROCCO PUTRAJAYA

Kuala Lumpur Travel Guide

Tucked away in a corner of the Putrajaya Botanical Gardens, surrounded by landscaped gardens and alongside a lake, lies the exquisite Moroccan Pavilion Putrajaya (Astaka Morocco). Development of the Moroccan Pavilion was an idea mooted by the Malaysian Government and it was built with Moroccan assistance. It was intended to symbolise the strong diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The intricate craftsmanship of the ceilings, pillars and walls was prefabricated in various villages in Morocco and shipped over to Putrajaya. Skilled Moroccan artisans were brought in to assemble the pieces and apply the finishing touches.

It has gained popularity among travellers, influencers and bloggers, thus making it a must see Kuala Lumpur attraction and an Instagram-worthy hotspot in KL. One of the reasons why it is included in our Kuala Lumpur travel guide!

Kuala Lumpur is the only city in the world that has a natural rainforest situated right at its centre. The KL Forest Eco Park (formerly known as the Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve) was gazetted as a forest reserve in 1906 and is one of the oldest in Malaysia. It is also one of the most visited Kuala Lumpur attractions in the country.

A must-visit is the popular Canopy Walk, a wood-and-steel bridge with an impressive 200 meters canopy walk, providing visitors with a wonderful aerial view of the treetops and the city beyond, and of course, plenty of opportunities for those memorable shots on social media walls.

Travel broaden my horizons and learn more about other cultures so that i can have more respect for one another. • • It was my first time i made a visit to a Mosque in my life. I was born in a country where 87% of population are Muslim, but i didn’t get a chance to visit any of mosque. However, attracted to its architecture, i finally managed to visit not only one but two mosques in a day when we were in KL. • • We had a fruitful visit to this beautiful mosque, learnt about what are the things inspired their architectural and admire Islamic cultures perfectly crafted on every corner of the mosque, the Arabesque pattern and the beautiful calligraphy on the Arches, Dome, Main Prayer Halls and Verandah spaces.. Thanks Kak Rose for sharing your thoughts, it was such an eye opening tour. #YuniQuetravels #YuniInKL #MalaysiaTrulyAsia Thanks @blackivory for the lovely shot..
