Things To Do in Johor Bahru: Relive Your Childhood At LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort
LEGO, a four-letter word that is recognized by most people, has not only invaded toy shelves but also conquered the world of video games and movies. But perhaps the one thing that truly makes every LEGO lover’s dreams come true is the idea of visiting LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort. One important item on our list of things to do in Johor Bahru, it’s the only LEGOLAND park in Southeast Asia. It combines a LEGOLAND theme park, Water Park and Hotel in one location, making it home to numerous rides, slides and attractions that you would not want to miss!
LEGOLAND THEME PARK
LEGOLAND theme park offers eight themed areas enveloped in a dynamic and vivid atmosphere. When you arrive in LEGOLAND, The Beginning is where your adventure starts! You’ll be greeted by colourful LEGO bricks, shops where you can purchase LEGO merchandise, and a café to fill you up for the whole day.
At LEGO Technic, you better get ready for an adrenaline rush. Most of the rides are action-packed but don’t worry, the speed has been adjusted for the little ones. Don’t forget to go for a mind-twisting ride at ‘Technic Twister’ or tackle the ‘Aquazone’ for a round of splashing fun while getting drenched by water bombs! Another Malaysia attraction is The Great LEGO Race, which is the world’s first LEGO virtual reality roller coaster.
Head north just a few steps away and you’ll find yourself in LEGO Kingdoms. This area is all about castles, knights, dragon and kings. What makes the experience feel real? The sound of harps and lutes playing in the background! Just before the castle is paradise for the children because it’s where they can enjoy climbing, jumping and running all over the spaces. Another roller coaster ride that you should not miss out is ‘The Dragon,’ which offers a great view of the whole kingdom.
Past LEGO Kingdoms, you’ll be greeted by Imagination which is designed for toddlers. Kids can build anything with the LEGO provided, hop on a miniature train, or explore the ‘DUPLO Playtown’. In this area, ‘Observation Tower’ is provided for you to view the entire LEGOLAND and it also offers a 360-degree view of the park and surroundings. It is the best area to take a rest!
After catching your breath at Observation Tower, explore the charming land of pharaohs and dinosaurs called Land of Adventure. The Beetle Bounce is one of the highlight attractions here, where you’ll be catapulted 15 feet into the air. The boat ride through Dino Island is also an incredible experience worth taking because of a wild splash at the end of the boat ride.
After Land of Adventure, head to LEGO Ninjago World where LEGOLAND’s most popular ride, ‘LEGO Ninjago The Ride’, is located. If you’re looking for ninja gear or Ninjago merchandise, head to the ‘Sensei’s Shop’ in the area!
Does your kid have his/her own list of things to do in Johor Bahru? Make sure a visit to LEGO City is on there! The attraction is filled with interactive and educational rides. Kids can do and be whatever they want such as a pilot, a fireman, a captain or even a driver. It’s a golden chance for kids to learn and have fun at the same time.
Lastly, there’s Miniland, which is the centrepiece of LEGOLAND. You can find 17 landmarks of numerous Asian countries built using LEGO bricks. These include the Taj Mahal from India, the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, and Angkor Wat from Cambodia. Did you know that this attraction took three years and over 30 million of LEGO bricks to complete?
LEGOLAND Water Park
