If you’re on a close watch with our travel guides then you’ve probably already read about the Manila attractions we’ve shared in the past such as fun indoor activities and Metro Manila’s hidden bars. But today we will be featuring something a little out of the ordinary that will sure to spark some interest with animal lovers out there!

The Pet Cafe trend started in Taiwan back in the late 90’s. Since then, neighbouring countries including the Philippines have jumped in on the trend.

It’s been said that furbabies are effective stress-relievers and mood boosters. Barkin Blends

Our first featured Manila attraction is Barkin Blends, a dog café located in Katipunan, Quezon City. It’s the Philippines’ first dog café which opened in 2014 and has since been the go-to Manila attraction for dog lovers in the metro.

For only P219, you can enjoy a free drink and two hours of furry love from the Barkin Buddies! Barkin Blends has a total of 30 cute dogs waiting for you – which all come in all sorts of sizes! The small breed dogs are the ff: Shih Tzu, Boston Terrier, American Cocker Spaniel, Miniature Schnauzer, Beagle, Maltese, Pug, Lhasa Apso, Poodle and Jack Russel.

While the bigger ones are Golden Retriever, Irish Setter, Chinese Shar-pei, Labrador Retriever, Siberian Husky, Basset Hound and Dalmatian.

Barkin Blends also sells café classics, pasta, burgers, sandwiches and tea for affordable prices.

Bengal Brew and Wolf & Bear

Bengal Brew and Wolf & Bear is a joint Manila attraction in Araneta Center, Cubao. The Wolf & Bear is the recent one, following the success of cat café Bengal Brew which features Bengal cats – domesticated kittens which are developed to look like margays, ocelots and leopards. The Wolf & Bear on the other hand features snow dogs such as Alaskan Malamutes and Siberian Huskies.

You can chow down some of the cafes’ house specials, pastries, cakes, as well as hot and cold drinks.

Cat Café Manila

Cat Café Manila in partnership with CARA Welfare Philippines aims to advocate responsible pet ownership and provide homes for puspins or what they call stray cats in the Philippines. So if you ever fall in love with any of the adorable cats during your visit in the café, see if he/she is available for adoption so you can take her home!

Another reason why they opened Cat Cafe Manila is that they would also like to share their love for the adorable feline. The café holds a homey atmosphere for the cats with minimalist wooden decors. There’s a P200 entrance fee per hour; P100 is consumable for the available drinks and snacks in the café.

Pups and Dogs Café

The interior of Manila attraction Pups and Dogs Café will make you feel like going on an afternoon stroll in the park! Designed with benches and plants, here you will see cute dogs and puppies lounging, sleeping and running around. They currently have only small breed dogs so you’re welcome here if you want to cuddle and play with these tiny furbabies!

You can enjoy a wide range of food available – pastas, rice meals, appetizers and paninis.

Bistro Meau

Bistro Meau is another pet café in the south of Manila. But what makes it stand out from the others is that it doesn’t charge an entrance fee and you can stay as long as you like! That means more time to bond with exotic cats with breeds such as Persian Cats and Scottish Folds. You can buy some snacks or meals from their expansive menu which you can enjoy while in the cafe.
